Discount & Tax Calculation Guide
Understanding discounts and taxes helps you make informed purchasing decisions. The discount is subtracted from the original price first, then sales tax is applied to the discounted price. Tips are calculated on the pre-tax sale price by default.
Sale Price = Original × (1 - Discount%/100)
Total = (Sale Price × (1 + Tax%/100)) + (Sale Price × Tip%/100)
Split bills evenly by dividing the total among the number of people. Tip is calculated on the sale price after discount but before tax.
